The Darkest Star by Jennifer L.Armentrout | Review #18

Happy Monday !

Today I have a great review lined up for a book by my favourite author …. The Darkest Star ! This book was incredible. As my favourite books are all by Jennifer L.Armentrout I expected nothing less than to be mind blown by the incredible author and I was 🤯!

Title: The Darkest Star

Series: N/A

Author: Jennifer L.Armentrout

Cover:

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

“Seventeen year old Evie Dasher knows first hand the devastating consequences of humanity’s war with the stunning, otherworldly Luxen. Evie was just a kid when the aliens were defeated, but her life was forever changed when her father Sergeant Jason Dasher , was killed during one of the deadly battles.

When Evie is caught up in a raid at a notorious club known as one of the few places where humans and the surviving Luxen can mingle freely, she meets Luc. An unnaturally beautiful guy she assumes is a Luxen … but he is in fact something much more secret – and much more dangerous.

Her growing desire to know more about Luc will lead her deeper and deeper into a world she’s only heard about, revealing secrets long buried, a betrayl that could tear her life apart, and an attraction that could be the very end of her.”

The Darkest Star was incredible. No … wait … absolutely phenomenal ! It linked right in with the Lux novels and even had a star appearance made by Daemon black and a mention of Katy 😆.

Evie was a really relatable character. She was so normal. She loved photography and went to school with her friends. She watched movies and ate popcorn with her mum 🍿… Until Luc. Their connection was sooooo obvious to everyone but Evie and I was rooting for them the whole time. I loved watching Evie grow closer to Luc as her life began to unravel. She had been living a lie and suddenly she knew the truth and Luc was one of the only people she could turn to. Little did she know, they had met a long time ago… This book had me on the edge of my seat. I was completely hooked from the first page. I read the whole thing in about 3 days (I got up at 6 so I coukd read the book for an hour or two before going to volunteer 😂 ).

As with the Lux novels I am completely obsessed and have contacted Jennifer with a list of questions about the books, so fingers crossed 🤞she replies soon. To sum up this review … You have to read this book !!! It was amazing and I loved it.

Happy Reading,

Alysha xx
